JUXTAPOSED JOURNAL / A MIXED MEDIA WORKSHOP

In this workshop you will learn how to deconstruct an old book and reconstruct it's well loved covers into an awesome journal using multiple layers and various mixed media techniques. Incorporating paint, ink, pens, pencils and more, we will explore the delicate process of adding medium over medium to build beautiful illusions of depth and texture. When complete, your journal cover will have the look and feel of a unique and interesting layered canvas. 

You will also learn how to create simple but pretty signatures for your journal, pulling favorite papers from your art stash or gathering and collecting new ones that speak to who you are as a mixed media artist. A simple and alterable stitching process will allow for easy manipulation of your pages as you continue to build and work in your reconstructed book. 

Create bold pockets for your journal with repurposed papers and then add them to a personalized background to fashion end papers that are one of kind.

Once complete, take what you have learned and construct amazing art journal pages by mashing up the layers used to build your book with pretty patterned papers. 

This journal will be the perfect go-to book to get your creative juices flowing.
